Balanced Diet for Remaining Fit and Fine

Diet itself is the most important element for the life and maintaining the good health. But the Balanced Diet has a lot to do with the health especially. The people in the current times have become more health conscious and do emphasize more on their lifestyles, exercises or daily activities and of course the perfectly or ideally Balanced Diets . The Balanced Diets could well be defined as the diet that contains foods from all the food groups comprising of all the significant nutritional elements such as: carbohydrates, proteins, fatty acids / fibers / enzymes, vitamins, minerals and water.

Generally we notice that people jus go on ingesting anything they get or anything they love to eat which is basically called the poor or bad eating habits which gradually lead to overweight or obesity and various serious ailments and disorders. This is one of the reasons why one should insist for the Balanced Diets . The dieticians and nutritionists have typically categorized five basic groups of which the Balanced Diet should comprise of, which precisely means that the diet should contain foods from each of these groups.

Bread, potatoes, pastas, rice, noodles and breakfast cereals contain starch hence should make the main portion of the meal and so far possible the high fiber varieties should be chosen. Besides starch, these foods are also believed to be the great source of fibers and vitamins too. Fresh fruits and vegetable contain the tremendous sources of different vitamins, minerals and fibers and are considered naturally low in fats and calories too. Taking minimum five servings of fruits and vegetables every day is greatly suggested. Milk and dairy products like milk, cheese and yoghurt are rich sources or proteins, calcium, various vitamins and minerals, so ingesting around 2 to 3 servings every day are very good for the health.

Inclusion of meat, fish, poultry and pulses in required quantity provides iron and vitamin B12, at least 2 servings per day are recommended to be taken. Foods having fats and sugar like cream, ice-cream, low fat spreads, cooking oils, salad dressings, bakery products, sweets etc are high in fats and calories so they should not be ingested in higher quantities.
